Many sleep apps rate sleep quality differently, and will often include sleep stages to rate overall sleep health, such as light sleep, deep sleep, short awake durations and REM (rapid eye movement) duration.
The HeadUp app does not include sleep stages as:
- Not all wearable devices can track sleep stages, and
- The HeadUp sleep score is scientifically validated and doesn’t require more data from users.
The HeadUp app’s sleep score is useful in accessing sleep quality as it gives users the ability to track trends in sleep efficiency over time to see changes and make improvements.
To better support users to track their sleep data, the HeadUp app presents the time series chart of sleep efficiency trend last 14 to 28 days.
